Call Out for Board Members!
Join Community One for a rewarding opportunity to build on 40+ years of volunteerism and community building by donating your time, experience, and expertise! We are actively seeking new board members.
Community One Foundation acknowledges and is committed to addressing historical inequities within our organization. We are seeking members who identify within the 2SLGBTQ+ community, and encourage applications from marginalized communities, including those who identify as Indigenous, women, trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, Black, people of colour, and persons with disabilities.
In particular, we are looking for board members who can provide leadership in the following areas:
a. Digital Communications and Public Relations
b. Marketing and Advertising
c. Fundraising
d. Case Law and Professional Standards of Practice in Non-Profit Organizations Knowledge
e. Accounting and Investment Analysis
f. Graphic Design
Board members are required to attend a monthly board meeting (generally the first Tuesday of every month), a monthly committee meeting, participate in occasional community and Community One Foundation events, and work on their focus areas as well as staying on top of emails outside of meetings. We estimate board member obligations range between 8-10 hours per month. Board members have the opportunity to serve two consecutive two-year terms (four years). Board members are generally appointed and voted in at our annual AGM in June; however – the board can appoint board members before the AGM for any current openings.
