Arts and Culture
Rainbow Voices of Toronto - Building Membership Capacity - Year 1
Funds will be used to support and rebuild membership of Rainbow Voices of Toronto through newsletters, promotions, and outreach to diverse GTA groups.
Gays Lesbians of African Descent (GLAD) - REEL GLAD IMAGES: Reclaiming FACES - Reclaiming SPACES
To present artwork, images, and motion pictures of gays and lesbians of African Descent from the continent of Africa and from the Diaspora whose faces and spaces are too often cast to the background of life. REEL GLAD IMAGES will be a one-day event during Pride Toronto Week to showcase interrgenerational GTA queer African artistic talent with a Diasporic spin.
Jamieson Eakin - The Queer Collective Showcase Festival
A festival dedicated towards promoting emerging and established queer songwriters.Performances during the festival will be documented. Workshops on the many different aspects of being a queer career musician (hosted by established queer musicians) will be offered to artists from the community.
Buddies in Bad Times Theatre - Pride Cab
Pride Cab Project is a 12-week arts and history project facilitating cross-generational exchanges between artists activists who shaped queer history and young artists who will be tomorrow's story tellers.
Buddies in Bad Times Theatre - The World Premiere Presentation of Waawaate Fobister's Agokwe
To help mount the World Premiere of AGOKWE by talented, new two-spirited playwright Waawaate.
Christopher Richard-Bentley - A Guide to Navigation During Perilous Times: The Construction and Preservation of Queer Histories, Identities, and Activism
The [murmer] project is a documentary oral history project that records people's personal histories about places in their neighbourhoods and allows others to access them by phoning a number displayed at each location.
Counterpoint Community Orchestra - 25th Anniversary Celebration
Funding goes to locating a larger concert venue and marketing and promoting 25th anniversary concerts, and to program enhancements such as guest artists etc.
Alliance for South Asians AIDS Prevention (ASAAP) - Queer South Asian Youth Q-SAY
Organize 4 cultural and social events, the events will create a safe space for South Asian LGBTQ youth. Funds used for space, refreshments and performance honoraria.
Gurbeen Bhasin - Night at the Indies
Funding is for the event "Night at the Indies" to showcase local LQBTTQ2S artists and to focus on issues of homophobia, education, anti-opression, and anti-racism.
Ontario Rainbow Alliance of the Deaf (ORAD) - Two Worlds As One: Bridging the Deaf and Hearing Worlds Throuh Film
ORAD's theme is to bridge the Deaf and hearing worlds through the medium of film through a partnership with CAYA to support the showing of a Deaf transgendered WTM indiviual in the Toronto Community.
Sherbourne Health Centre - Supporting Our Youth (SOY) - Supporting Our Youth (SOY) Documentary: 10 Years of Building Community
Funding is for a documentary to celebrate the 10th anniversary as a leading LGBT-youth focused community development program, and opportunities for LGBT youth to join the fimmaking crew as a production assistant.
Inside Out - Toronto Lesbian and Gay Film and Video Festival - Video Village
To fund an exhibition of video installations in Toronto Gay Village.
St. Jamestown Safety Committee - Ote'a Tanes - The Next Step
To invest in the learning enhancement of a multicultural group of gay men residing in and around St Jamestown community in the art of hula kahiko or ancient hula.
Mayworks Festival - Trans Workers Cabaret
Performances by local emerging trans-identified artists who will speak about being trans-identified in the workplace.
Raging Asian Women Taiko Drummers (RAW) - Artistic Development Grant
Artistic development through workshops with professional taiko drummer Aki Takahashi of the Kiyoshi Nagata Ensemble.
Homosy what? Press - Out of Place - An Anthology of Stories by LGBTT Travelers
Out of Place, an anthology of stories from LGBTT people who have travelled to foreign places, will examine trans-cultural experiences, negotiate identity in unfamiliar situations, and analyze privilege versus oppression. Fiction, creative non-fiction, and B&W artwork may be incorporated.

Plato Bernburg Society encourages people to engage in queer history through cinema by reviving excellent - but seldom seen - queer classic, pre-1992 films.

Pilot project aims to work with Asian Transgender/Transsexual women who are interested in building their professional careers. Assist with job market knowledge, career options and relate personal skills to careet decisions.

A Stronger CLICK: Youth Mentoring Manual
Developed in consultation with volunteers, staff, youth, community members and community resources, a manual will be created to assist LGBT mentors and youth to establish better relationships.

Snehithan is a social support group for GBTTQQ South Asian men and transpeople who share aspects of the Tamil language-base and culture.

LGBT Parenting Connections Halton
To create a LGBTQ parenting group. A forum for parents to speak about issues and ideas that directly effect queer parents.

Say What?! Conference: Exploring Sexual and Gender Diversity Among Youth in Durham
Say What?! is a one-day conference brings together all stakeholders in Durham region youth services to educate, coordinate, and expand support for LGBTTI2QQ youth in the rapidly growing Durham region.

ReachOUT Scarborough is a youth-driven initiative that aims to incress access to services, resources and activities for youth 14-25 who identify as ITT2PQBLGQ.
Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line
Strategic Planning for the Future
Funding to support the development a strategic plan for 2008-2011. The planning process will include consultations with over 250 stakeholders by advertising requests for proposals and hiring a consultant to guide the strategic planning process.
